In early November, Plasencia Cigars announced a new limited-edition cigar, the Plasencia Ehtëfal.
The word Ehtëfal means "celebration" in Arabic. Plasencia Ehtëfal made its debut in Qatar, host of the FIFA 2022 World Cup. Production is limited to 2,500 boxes for the US market and 2,500 for the international market.
The Ehtëfal de Plasencia has a special meaning for the Plasencia family. It is a celebration of the world coming together once again after two difficult years.
With this special blend, the Plasencia family wants to celebrate the fact that we can come together again. Just as the roots of tobacco come together and grow stronger, we are also stronger together.
Plasencia Ehtëfal is described as a medium to full-bodied cigar. It is composed of a sun-grown Jalapa wrapper, a binder and a filler from a selection of ten-year-old tobaccos from Plasencia farms in Honduras and Nicaragua. The cigar is available in a single size, a Toro 6 x 52, in boxes of 10 sold for CHF 650.
The worldwide launch of the new line was presented on November 19 in Doha, Qatar, at a private, invitation-only event organized by Plasencia Cigars and its distributor in Qatar, The Humidor Trading Company. The family invited a select group of local authorities and international personalities to taste such an exclusive cigar for the first time.
