History of Xikar
The Xikar adventure began in 1994 when Kurt Van Keppel, in search of a functional and aesthetically pleasing cigar cutter, found himself confronted with a market offering unsatisfactory products. Together with Scott Almsberger, they developed the Xi cigar cutter, laying the foundation for a company that would become a market leader in cigar accessories. Inspired by the Taino word "sikar", the name Xikar symbolizes the union of conviviality, embodied by the cigar, and precision, illustrated by two crossed blades.
Xikar's mission
Xikar is committed to delivering value to cigar aficionados. The brand's promise is based on pragmatic, ergonomic design that reconciles form, feel and function. Each product offers an enhanced user experience thanks to its meticulous design and features designed for comfort of use. Backed by a solid lifetime warranty, Xikar demonstrates its unwavering support for its customers, affirming its credo: Xikar for Life.
Design and Innovation
Xikar's philosophy is to create products of honest design, with an emphasis on ergonomics and simplicity. This principle leads to accessories whose minimalist aesthetic never sacrifices functionality. Their range of knives and cigar cutters, for example, stand out for their ease of use as well as their efficiency, illustrating Xikar's commitment to enriching the experience of cigar enthusiasts.
The art of cutting
Continuing its expansion, Xikar has ventured beyond classic cigar cutters to present high-performance knives, the fruit of knowledge shared with exceptional cutlers and renowned manufacturers. The 118 Elan, 138 Excel and 158 Excursion, as well as new models planned for 2003, embody this convergence of tradition and innovation, meeting the needs of connoisseurs and newcomers alike in the complex world of cigar making.
Contribution to Cigar Culture
Xikar doesn't just produce cigar accessories; the company makes a significant contribution to cigar culture by offering tools that enrich the tasting experience. By combining quality, meticulous design and innovation, Xikar plays a role in the evolution of cigar-making traditions and exerts a significant influence on the appreciation and valorization of cigars on a global scale.
