For many, the highlight of the Festival del Habano, the Cuban cigar festival, is the auction of unique humidifiers which takes place on the final evening of the event. The humidor auction is organized by Habanos S.A. to raise funds for the Cuban healthcare system. It regularly generates over $1.5 million.
This year's auction items are as follows.
50 Trinidado 50 Aniversarios, a new 155 mm (59 1/6 in.) x 59 in. figurado, is the first time the Trinidad brand has received a figurado release.
SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LA HABANA
It's the 500th anniversary of the city of Havana, which was originally called San Cristóbal de La Habana. As such, the brand is at the heart of this year's festival and includes the humidor auction. The San Cristóbal humidor is designed to resemble city walls, including gates, which are open, cannons and wall features. For the auction, Grupo Union used Cuban cedar, mahogany and okume wood, as well as bronze and titanium. A total of 500 cigars are included in the humidor, placed in 14 drawers on each side of the humidor.- Dimensions: 65 x 90 x 70 (cm)

H. UPMANN
Herman Upmann was a German banker who came to Havana and set up a bank, then the cigar brand bearing his name. This humidor pays tribute to that, designed to mimic a bank's security system. It was created by Humidores Habana, which has produced a number of humidifiers at auction over the years and now has several. Okoume and cedar wood is used with stainless steel and silver were used to create the piece, which has a capacity of 500 cigars in total. Habanos S.A. explains that this humidor is "intended to evoke a Habano cigar by recreating this truncated tubular shape". It was also inspired by the Las Vega farmhouse in Hoyo de Monterrey, which features a door with the inscription: Hoyo de Monterrey. José Gener. 1860. This inscription is on the top of the cellar. It was designed by Jackmel Llera Cotarelo and produced by Grupo Caoma. The humidor is made of cedar, mahogany and okume wood, and also uses bronze. Although it may look like ivory, this humidor is actually made of okoume and cedar wood, as well as aluminum and silver. The front features a painted sculpture showing the two main characters from the classic story. It was manufactured by Humidores Habana. It's a boat. The nautically inspired Montecristo humidor features a main sail in stainless steel and titanium mesh, while the rest of the humidor is made of Cuban cedar, okoumé wood and mahogany. It's Trinidad's 50th anniversary, and this humidor is inspired by the Hotel Habana Libre, which, according to Habanos S.A., was the birthplace of the Trinidad brand. The elliptical shape symbolizes "something that is infinite, something that never ends and evokes creativity and perfection". DeART, an Italian furniture company, manufactured the cellar from ebony and cedar wood, Italian leather, brass and mother-of-pearl.

COHIBA
This humidor pays homage to a zemi (or cemi), a deity of the Taíno indigenous people. Habanos S.A. says the wink on the face is a reference between the old and the new. The humidor opens to reveal 16 drawers and a capacity of 600 cigars. Humidores Habana built the humidor using okume, cedar and mahogany. 550 cigars can be found inside the humidor, including the new Cohiba Novedosos, a forthcoming version of the LCDH brand.- Dimensions: 1700 x 1000 x 570 ((cm)
